Christine O’Donnell Newsflash – 1st Amendment Apparently Establishes Separation of Church & State

This will be impossible to miss tomorrow, but I thought I’d throw together a quick post anyways.  The shocking unraveling of Christine O’Donnell continues.  In a recorded debate, Miss O’Donnell repeatedly challenged the idea that the separation of church and state was part of our constitution.  I’ve provided the text of the 1st Amendment below as a refresher for most, but also as a primer for any senatorial candidates who have not quite made it that far into “their copy of the constitution.”

Full text of the 1st Amendment of the U.S. Constitution:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

I highly recommend watching the full eight minutes of this video as there are multiple deep belly laugh, guffaw and knee slapping moments to enjoy.

Stay tuned for the fallout.  If O’Donnell’s response to the Bill Maher witchcraft segment was the “I am not a witch” video, I’m thinking her next one will be a real hoot.

Please share your thoughts below and pass this along.

Thanks for stopping by!
