Wangari Maathai, the founder of the Green Belt Movement, environmentalist, civil and women’s rights activist, and parliamentarian, recently died from complications of ovarian cancer.   Ms. Maathai won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2004 for  “her contribution to sustainable development, democracy and peace.”  Please watch this short video and don’t ever doubt your ability to initiate and drive positive change.  (The movement started by Ms. Maathai has planted over 45 million trees in Kenya.)
